General Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:3o PM

Board members in attendance as follows:

Ron Jones- President, Bill Pitman- VP, Gerry Simmons- Range Master, Caseman Thompson – Interim Secretary + 4 members

Pres: Minutes from last month were approved.

Financial report for December 2024 and January 2025 were given by Gerry.

No one has received the Downrange flyer yet but should shortly.

Executive Board meeting occurred last weekend and the minutes are located in the office hardcopy.

We are for tax purposes a 501 C7 Social Club.

We compared the Ziply internet to our current service and we will be staying with our current service since the price increases after 2-3 years is higher.

Gerry has conducted since last meeting 1-2 orientations.

Open range to public:

Feb 8 and 9th: Bill Pittman will cover

For Feb 22 and 23; Eileen will call some folks.

There will be no Black Powder cartridge shoot in March. It coincides with the hunter education class.

Brian, the gunsmith in Seaside would like to see if the Seaside hunter education class can use our range for their field day.  Members stated should be no issue to schedule a day in March sometime, as requested. Brian will be calling Gerry Simmons.

Oregon has some new ballot measures being considered that folks should look into. One mentions a 72 hour waiting period on firearms.  One also mentions not allowing those under 21 from possessing specific firearms.  Washington also has pending bills d including one requiring a 25K liability insurance coverage on individual firearms.

Bill Pittman made and installed the door on the shooting shack.

The Downrange newsletter was intended and sent out also to increase member participation in the club and work parties/volunteering.  It was noted that the public has been at the gate waiting for a member to card them in. One of those folks gave the member $20 for letting them in and at the meeting said member handed that over to Gerry who placed it in the club coffer on the wall.
