Minutes for May 2024

General Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:24 PM

Board members in attendance as follows:

Ron Jones- President, Bill Pitman- VP, Gerry Simmons- Range Master, Cindy Sacry – Secretary

Pres: Minutes from last month were approved.

Financial report: None provided. We should have them next month.

Cindy- I have contacted Aileen and she will be stamping the return address on the envelopes from last year. This is so we can send out the ballots and our newsletter.

Gerry- NRA Grants- we were notified that we will be getting money to improve the range.

We will be getting other items:

  • 10/22 Ruger Rifle 22 LR
  • Smith & Wesson Victory 22 LR
  • Ruger Magazine 1 Box -10 round
  • Trauma kit from Voodoo Tactical
  • 1500 targets
  • CCI 22 LR standard Velocity 40 grain (5,000 count)
  • 5 magazines S&W pistol
  • Shot timers.

We should find out next week when we will get these items.

We will be applying again for a grant to the NRA for a block wall for the new range. We are sending out an email to ask law enforcement for letters stating that we need a block wall for the new range for safety and to enhance training.

Tonight, we met Dean Demer, he said he could get the blocks for cost. He introduced himself and he will be teaching the following:

  • Basic Pistol Course
  • Intermediate- Shooting from the bench
  • Conceal and carry.
  • He also wants to teach people how to clean and maintain their firearms.

He is trying to set up his own business and is applying for his FFL.

Old Business:

  • Cindy has received several quotes for a new card reader. The quotes were too expensive. It has been put on hold.
  • Melanie has closed QuickBooks and is trying to get our money back. She was unable to access the data.
  • We will be making metal signs for the range.
  • Gerry purchased stationery for the elections.
  • There was money in the office for the soda that people donated. Cindy gave it to Melanie to deposit in the bank and it will be under donations. There have been people who donate soda.
  • The American Legion has a raffle. If you want any ticket, please contact Mike Sacry.

Shoots:

NRL Shoot-is this Saturday, and they had 14 people on the last shoot.
Black powder shoot- they had 6 people.
Silhouette– had not as many people came out. We found that Ron was shooting at Mike’s target. It was funny.
Smallbore– Last week was their last shoot for the year, they have 5 ½ points.  They are waiting for the final results.

Open to Public has been cancelled for May 25 and 26.
